The Centre for Australian Ethical Research (CAER) was established in
January 2000, and offers ethical research services on a broad range of
environmental and social criteria. CAER’s database covers the top 300
companies in Australia by market capitalisation, companies that move in
and out of the ASX on a regular basis (smaller members of the ASX300),
smaller listed companies invested in by research clients and selected
New Zealand and Pacific companies. CAER operates as an independent, not-for-profit research organisation

Duncan Paterson BA F Fin
Duncan is Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Centre for
Australian Ethical Research (CAER), the not-for-profit SRI research
organisation based in Canberra. He has worked extensively in the field
of socially responsible investment, both in Australia and in the UK
with EIRIS Ltd. Duncan values the opportunity his work offers to
combine research into company activities with direct dialogue through
company representatives. Duncan is a director of the industry
body for SRI in Australia, the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA),
and of the Hong-Kong based Association for Sustainable and Responsible
Investment in Asia (ASrIA).

Konrad Knerr
Konrad is Company Secretary of the Centre for Australian Ethical
Research (CAER). He has an Honours degree in European Studies from the
Australian National University in Canberra. He previously worked for
the ASX listed funds manager, Australian Ethical Investment Limited,
before helping to establish the not-for-profit Centre for Australian
Ethical Research Pty Ltd in 2002. He is a member of the Australian
Ethical sustainability committee and a finance committee member of a
local community association. Work for the not-for-profit CAER allows
him to practice 'right livelihood'. He lives in Canberra with his wife
Katrin and two children Jana and Martyn.

Philip Sloane BAppSci (Hons) F Fin
Philip completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) at the
University of Canberra in 1997, specialising in resource and
environmental science. Between 1997 and 2001 he worked as a research
officer at the Cooperative Research Centre for Freshwater Ecology in
Canberra monitoring the biological health of rivers and streams
throughout south-eastern Australia. In 2001 he began a Graduate Diploma
in Applied Finance and Investment through the Securities Institute,
which he completed in 2002. Philip joined the Centre for Australian
Ethical Research (CAER) as a research analyst in September 2001 and
became Head of Research in 2003. He is responsible for researching
corporate environmental and social performance.
Christal George
Christal has a Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University, specialising in Environmental and Administrative Law. She joined CAER in 2005 and is currently based in Perth, Western Australia.

Keith Price
Keith
Price is a researcher and programmer with backgrounds in philosophy,
computer science/software engineering and administration. He is keenly
interested in developing integral theory and practice in all areas of
human endeavour. He has one son and lives in Canberra.

Glenn Fairbairn BSc(Psychology)
Glenn graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) in June, 2007 from the Australian National University in Canberra.
He joined CAER as a research analyst in July 2007, and is keenly interested in corporate ethics research and applied research methodologies.

Julia Leske
Julia completed her Bachelor of Arts/ Bachelor of Science in Public Administration/ European Studies at the Universities of Muenster (Germany) and Twente (Netherlands) in 2007.
As part of her degree she worked in Mexico in an environmental and resource management project with the German Technical Assistance (GTZ). She joined the Centre for Australian Ethical Research (CAER) in 2007 as a corporate ethics researcher. Working with CAER gives her the opportunity to practise what she has learned in theory.

Anne Timewell
Anne is an ethics researcher and first worked for the Centre for Australian Ethical Research in 2004. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities) and is in her final year of a Bachelor of Laws (G) at the Australian National University. Anne has had many years experience with ownership and management of small businesses and is currently still involved in her family owned business. Based in the Snowy Mountains, she also owns a small farm which allows her to experience firsthand the opportunities and challenges associated with sustainable farm management
